Free Blogs Pinger - For Multiple Sites to Multiple Services

Several years ago, I have presented the rating list for the free multi-site online pinging services. While it is a good solution, I still find it somehow limited. Most of these services do not accept multiple blogs entrance at the same time, and in almost all services, the list of the links for your blogs to get submitted, is hard coded and cannot be changed.

For me, the ideal solution would be a simple script, when I can add as many blogs as I need, and I can ping all these blogs at the same time to the customer-made list of the sites, I will compile myself.

Today, I would like to present such a script to you, but with one catch. The software does NOT have English interface (at least, I could not find one). The software is in Russian, and since its operation is absolutely simple and straightforward, with my basic translation (I speak Russian fluently), you will be able to use it “as is”.

The software is portable, and does not need to be installed to the hard drive. Actually, it is one executable file with one two windows. In one, you post list of your blogs, in another, there is a preset list of services to ping to, which you can change as you like. Good thing, that after software is closed, all settings are saved in you user files (so, correcting myself, it is not cleanly portable, which is good in a way as when you reopen it next time, the last used listing is automatically loaded, so you do not have to input your custom URLs and pinger leads again).

The software is called PingXpert, and its translated screenshot is below:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Again, operation is simple: in the top window add all your blogs, in the bottom is pre-populated list of services, which you can edit as you wish. Click right button on the bottom and wait. The response code for each service will show, how successful the ping was. If it has reached the target, the code is 200.

Website (in Russian, you can use Google translator if you wish): http://www.pingxpert.com/

Please share with me if you are aware on any similar script with English interface.

How to submit blog sitemap to Bing?

As you know, Search Engine Bing, powered by Microsoft, is one of the new successful additions to the marketing niche, dominated by Google. You may need to consider seriously your exposure to the Bing searchers, besides focusing on Google and Yahoo! To get more visibility, you can follow the simple steps, described below.

1. The first thing is to create an account or use one you already have for the services of pages of Microsoft, like Hotmail.

2. If this is the first time you access the service and never have sent your URL, you will see the option to "Add Site. You can have multiple websites / blogs in the same account.

3. Go to http://www.bing.com/webmaster/
* Click the "Add Site" to add the URL of your blog.
* Enter the address of your blog where it says.
* And click on "Submit" to submit your request.

4. Verify your ownership of your website.
Webmaster Tools requires authentication to ensure that only the rightful owners are provided with information about their websites. There are two ways to prepare your website for authentication, both of which rely on your adding an authentication code your website. You need to do only one of them to get verified.

* "Option 1" offers blog authorship verification by hosting a XML file on your Web Server, which is appropriate for the server hosted blogs (Wordpress.org, for example).

* "Option 2" represents a meta tag authorization by adding certain source code to your blog template (recommended for Blogger blogs).

As I am a Blogger platform user, I have applied the second approach, and it takes just a minute to complete site authorization. You can go to the panel, click on "Design" ~> "Edit HTML" and embed the generated line under the head. Then click the "Verify" button to let Bing to confirm your registration. Note that the tracking and displaying data indexing can take several days to begin to appear.

5. Adding sitemap of your blog
Now, when your blog has been successfully verified you can send its sitemap to get it crawled easier and help the algorithms to find and read its contents. Click on Add Sitemap on the line of your blog listing. At this point you have to add the address of the sitemap file to your blog.

* For blogs on Blogger (Blogspot) your map address definition is pretty simple. Just Enter the default address of RSS Feed, as in the example below:

URL- http://blogging4good.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss

* For wordpress.org blogs
You may use site maps generator Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator for WordPress. Simply create or have created an XML file of your sitemap, hosted on your host and add the link as explained above, clicking the "Submit".

Promote your blog through Dagaloo

No matter how popular your blog is, there is always not enough if you are rather ambitious blog owner. So the question on how to spread a word about the site always remains on the bloggers’ agenda. Today, we are going to present a new service, based on a Twitter mini-blogging platform, developed by a respected blogger, Nick Cardot, from SiteSketch 101.  The site is called Dagaloo, and it is described as “an intense social media sharing community”.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Here’s the basic concept at the heart of this program: help another user by tweeting out a link to their content and in return another user will tweet out a link to your content. Practical implementation is very simple and straightforward. You join the community (where you sign up with your Twitter ID and password).  You then tweet a link to share another member’s content with your followers.  Each time you send a tweet, you are awarded points.  The point system is based on your Klout score.

Then you submit your own content and community members will tweet your links to their own followers and earn credits from you for the effort.

To avoid the system misuse, there is a limit for tweets submission to only 1 tweet per 90 seconds, so hopefully as you browse the site, you’ll take the time to find content that you’re truly impressed with to share with others.

8 Common Mistakes of Guest Posting on Blogs

Link building is one of the most useful approaches to get more visibility to your blog, improve its rating, and attract visitors your site. All SEO experts agree that it is generally helpful, but the links building strategies might be different, and not all of them are bringing equally positive results.

If you are trying to build links that point back to your blog or website one of the most powerful ways you can do that is by offering to write content on other blogs. This is a little different than landing a freelance writing job because your offer is to help bloggers by writing content on their blog for free. While this might not sound like a very good deal for you in terms of the return on invested time, in fact, it really is.

Paying for links is risky. Google has a good sniffer for spotting paid or sponsored links. Doing link exchanges, especially blogroll exchanges, has proved to have very limited value. Ordering sponsored posts is very risky as well because you then might put your site on Google’s radar of potentially “blacklisted sites”.

Writing guest posts is a safe and very natural way to score powerful backlinks to your blog or website. Consider this too. When you publish content on other blogs, you are in complete control of the link building process. You are in complete control of how you want to word your content and shape and mold your links pointing back to your site. In other words, writing guest posts on other blogs gives you the ability to take a blank piece of digital paper and turn it into anything you want.

Guest posting on other blogs has other benefits as well. For one, you’ll find that you have an endless supply of blogs where you can publish your content on. Most bloggers struggle for material. Just like a journalist or a columnist, often bloggers struggle from writers block and totally enjoy it when someone offers to provide them with killer content.

Another benefit is the fact that not only can you build links by writing the content, you can also take a chance to use the post for indirect “selling” yourself and your content to readers of the blog you are publishing on. This gives you an amazing opportunity to increase the number of regular reader who read your own blog or website.

The only disadvantage is the amount of time you need to invest into writing content. One thing about that though is I believe that you always get back when you put in. Meaning, if you invest the time into writing quality content on other blogs, your return will be great as well.

Common mistakes with guest posts
  • Writing the guest post before you pitch the owner. Please send him/her several prospective post ideas, with bullet-pointed sub-points, and let owner suggest the best one for the audience.
  • Not doing your research. Read carefully author’s post and note the format of the blog, you are addressing your post. Your publication should match the spirit, structure, and format of the site, otherwise it might be rejected by the owner.
  • Submitting link-baits. Avoid submitting the posts that due to the time-limited actuality will be forgotten by the next day. High-traffic sites, for the most part, want great articles that will stand the test of time.
  • Using someone else’s content. One of the stupidest things you can do when submitting a post to someone else’s blog is to use someone else’s content. You do need a positive publicity, and not a negative one. Be professional and responsible, whatever you do and respect the host.
  • Using already published content. Don’t submit a post that you’ve already posted on your blog (or that you intend to publish on your blog in the future). As you know, having the same content in multiple places on the web doesn’t look good for search engines, and the blog owner might be very strict about that. Write and submit something unique. If you do intend to post something in multiple places make sure you get the approval of the blogger first.
  • Submitting self promotional content. The main reason that you as a guest poster are likely to engage in guest posting is to get exposure to a wider audience. That’s pretty well understood by everyone – however sometimes posts go too far and become more about the guest poster than anything else. If you’re going to use links back to your own blog inside the post (as opposed to just a byline) then make sure they’re completely relevant to the post itself and useful to readers. If you’re too self-promotional you’re less likely to have your post accepted and if it is you could end up hurting your reputation with those who read the post.
  • Making the blog post all about your opinion. Nobody cares about you. Use research, charts, and expert quotes to back up your argument, and create an interesting thesis.
  • Underestimating how long it takes to write a good post. On your blog, you might have great posts, average posts, or weak posts. You are the owner. But, when you propose your writing to the fellow blogger take your time to make a great irresistible content. You want attract the readers attention, so make it perfect by all means.
If you are interesting in submitting guest publication to this blog, you are welcome to drop a link in the comments to this post.

Post in Forums and Generate Traffic to your Blog

Using forum posts to generate traffic to your web site gives you several advantages that other methods don't. One of these, of course, is that it only costs you time, not money, and very little of that. But there's a right way and a wrong way to do it. Keep reading to learn how to get it right.

Introduction
The modern world of eBusiness has opened up countless opportunities for anyone that has a bit of creativity and a good work ethic. The incredible accessibility of the Internet grants virtually anyone the ability to get online and start his or her own money-making venture. Whether his or her enterprise is a traditional store with a website front, a store run solely on the Internet, or a new type of business that runs on subscriptions or ad revenue, almost everyone has some use for the Internet to bolster his or her business.

The real trick about the Internet’s ability to help a business is that you absolutely must know what you are doing. If you simply put a website online and sit and wait, no one is ever going to find you. There are literally hundreds of millions of websites on the Internet, and your potential customer is not going to just stumble upon yours through luck. Luckily, for the savvy Internet user, there are several key steps to take that will ensure that your customers are flooding into your website, ready to consume your product.

A good place to start looking for traffic to your website is the closest place to it: the Internet. Sure, it is possible to advertise using conventional means (billboards, fliers, commercials, etc.) and get plenty of traffic, but there are key advantages to using the Internet to generate business on the Internet. It is much more likely that someone will take the time to click a link to your website than it is that he or she will write it down while driving past a billboard and type it into his or her computer when he or she gets home.

If you are looking to generate quality traffic on a budget, then there is really no better way to go about doing it than one that will allow you to not spend a dime. One of the best free ways of generating traffic is by posting on online discussion boards, also known as forums. These posts will offer your potential customers the ability to go directly to your website from your posts, as well as find your information on their favorite search engine.
The simplest way to get customers to your website is to give them a link. When posting on a forum, you are often offered the opportunity to include a link and brief description for your business in every one of your posts. Other users do not mind this small amount of text after each one of your posts; often, others will have much more intrusive “signatures.”

The idea behind a link in your signature is that a potential customer will see information relevant to him or her (the description), and if he or she wants to learn more, will click on the link that goes with the description. The traffic that you receive in this manner will be from very targeted individuals who are interested in what you have to offer. The conversion rate (number of sells compared to the number of visits) from this type of traffic is very high. For that reason, direct traffic is also considered “high quality” traffic.

Another means of generating direct traffic is by providing a link to your website from your actual post. If you find a topic that is relevant to your business and post information that contributes to the discussion, then you should feel free to link back to your business website and let everyone know that they can go there if they would like more information about the subject or a product that is relevant. Be careful to read the rules of the forum before doing this, however, as some forums are very sensitive to anything that smells even a little like spam.

Traffic generated from links in posts is even higher quality than links from signatures, because the potential customers that are going to your website are doing so because they are interested in the specific topic that you were discussing, and not just the general idea that you convey in your signature’s description.

One thing you must watch out for as far as this kind of linking is concerned is that it can be very easy to get a negative reputation. If you provide a link to your business in every single one of your posts, it will quickly become obvious that you are just trying to be a salesperson. Also, if the content of your post is not constructive and you contribute nothing to the discussion, people will figure that you are just a personal billboard, and ignore you as such.
A more complicated means of generating traffic for your website is by providing links that help your search engine rankings. Luckily for you, there is very little that you actually need to understand in order to take advantage of this form of traffic generation.

The way it works is that every time you post your link on the Internet, a search engine like Google or Yahoo! will automatically detect your link. Every time the search engine finds that same link in different places across the web, it puts another “tally mark” next to it. This running tally—the number of times your link is found on the Internet—affects how close to the top your link will show up when someone searches for keywords that are relevant to your website. This is the most basic idea behind link building and SEO. In other words, the more times you post your link on the web, the more likely it is that your website will show up in top search engine results.

Another aspect of search engine link detection is that certain search engines can differentiate the different pages of your website based on your links. If you provide links to different pages of your website, the search engines will keep track of each page separately in addition to the website as a whole. In essence, you are getting two tally marks—as opposed to one—every time you post a different link.

If the search engines have a record of each of your specific web pages, it is much more likely that search engine results will be much more relevant to your information. As discussed before, this means that you will get much higher quality traffic, which converts to more sales and more money for your business.

Recently, search engines have begun offering website developers the option to designate certain links as “no-follow.” If you find a forum that has this option enabled, what it means is that you can post as many links as you want in all of your posts and the search engines will never notice. Obviously, this will negatively affect your search engine rankings and traffic generation. What you need to do to avoid this trap is learn the difference between “do-follow” links and “no-follow” links.

In 2005, in an attempt to ensure the highest quality of search engine results, Google popularized an HTML attribute called “no-follow.” The idea is that webmasters can indicate links that are not to their own content by tagging them as no-follow. This feature is often used by websites to indicate to search engines that links generated by users are not to be followed and indexed. Although the theory behind this idea is fairly sound and it is probably true that “no-follow” has reduced the amount of random page results in search engines, “no-follow” is the forum-marketer’s worst enemy when it comes to upgrading your search engine rankings.
Luckily for you, it is actually very easy to avoid forums which adhere to the “no-follow” attribute. You can find lists of such forums on multiple websites.

Once you have found a list of discussion boards that will work for you, you have to choose one or two specific ones that best suit you and your personality. If you would like to make the most of your own knowledge to get the word out there about your business, then you have to choose a discussion board that revolves around a main concept that is in line with your business and/or interests. If you are posting about a topic on which you are knowledgeable and in which you are interested, it is more likely that you will come off as legitimate. The greater the quality of your posts, the more likely people will believe you and follow your links.

Once you have found a forum that supports “do-follow” links and is also related to your area of expertise, you are almost ready to start marketing your own website. There is just one more piece of advice for you: come off well. You can become a respected and well-liked source of information on your topic quite easily if you are respectful and knowledgeable in your posts. However, if you are controversial and rude, it is much more likely that people will come to hate reading your posts. They will not follow your links and your time posting will be completely wasted.

Collecting all online traces at personal Web page

In one of my previous posts I have presented Sweetcron as automatic lifestreaming solution for bloggers http://blogging4good.blogspot.com/2009/02/automated-open-source-life-stream.html).

If you did not like the presented solution at the time, Frindo might cover your needs. Take a look!

FriendFeed is an excellent web service that collects your online activity to share with others in a social setting. It automatically picks up the stuff you share on over 40 web sites, like YouTube and Flickr.

But you may want to embed this information at your virtual home and have people that visit your website to get all of your Diggs, Tweets, YouTubes, Flickrs, etc. So Frindo is just a simple script that uses the FriendFeed API to put your life stream on your website in a highly customizable way.

An example of Frindo in action can be seen on the home page at http://screwtheman.com

Requirements

  • Web server running PHP4
  • Friend Feed account
  • Minor knowledge of CSS, HTML, and web servers
Directions
1. Download the zip file and unzip it. The result should be a folder named ’frindo’.
2. Upload this folder intact on to your web server to a place that it can be seen by a web browser.
3. Temporarily make this folder writable.
4. Further information on embedding frindo into your site is on the configuration page when you run it. Frindo will detect that that it has not been configured and will show the configuration and usage interface.
5. Fill out the form and hit submit.
6. If everything is fine change the permissions on the frindo folder and frindosettings.php back to read only. If you ever want to reconfigure it, just remove or rename the frindosettings.php in your folder and follow the configuration process again.
Note: For additional security, you may want to put those files in a differently named folder than ’frindo’. As long as they’re together, it doesn’t matter what the folder name is.

Email Notification from LinkBlip when somebody clicks your link

Your blog promotion is a project. As every project, a constant feedback is required to determine of what is working, and what is not. While many free opportunities are available for bloggers to check statistics, post popularity, and keywords success, sometimes you need to check the effectiveness of a single link and get instant notification, when somebody clicks it. Well-known approach would be to make a short URL at one of the redirection services, where detailed statistics are available. However, this approach, while being quite effective is also passive, since you need to check the stats manually to see the results.

LinkBlip (http://linkblip.com/) offers you even more proactive approach. This free service will send you an instant email notification as soon as link you provided is clicked by someone. This email notification includes the time your readers clicked on the link and their virtual location (the city and state they are in). There service is absolutely free, and does not require registration (definitely, you need to provide your email address, where notification is supposed to be sent).

Note that this simple, but quite effective service for some specific tracking purposes, is currently on sale. Visit it at http://linkblip.com/ and buy, if you are interested.

14 Ways to Promote your Blog Offline

Are you sure you are doing everything possible to promote your blog wherever you can? When I explored recent Darren Rowse offline blog promotion techniques, I realized that I do almost nothing for the offline promotion for my blog. I will list briefly the provided opportunities to let people know about your blog existence in the blogosphere:

1. Conferences and Conventions - if there is a conference that relates to the topic of your interests you can come, try to attend. Be proactive, make friends, and distribute promotional materials if available.

2. Business Cards - make the cards with interesting, attractive appearance and all contact information you want to share with potential readers.

3. Bookmarks - bookmarks use is similar to the business cards. The advantage of the bookmarks that they can be used for the practical bookmarking purposes as well, and are not easily lost.

4. Blogger Meetups - look for a local social network of bloggers in your area, and attend their events. With constant expansion of the virtual communication, face-to-face contacts between the blogging fans become even more valuable.

5. Stickers - make nice stickers as part of your blog promotion materials portfolio. Use them at all places where they can attract public attention (your office, car, bag, etc.) and distribute them between people, where they can substitute business cards.

Comments as source of a free traffic to your blog

In the course of investigation of the possible ways of bringing more traffic to the blog, leaving comments on other people blogs popped out as an acknowledged legitimate way of getting more exposure to your own blog ( http://blogging4good.blogspot.com/2008/01/6-advices-on-blog-posting-techniques.html)

In this post, I want to review the commenting features and commenting techniques to increase the possible benefits in more details.
  1. Leaving informative comments. Comments leaving technique brings the best outcomes when your comments are informative. Do not simply say “Good post” unless you have nothing else to say and yet you want to complement and encourage the author for the post. Avoid posting unrelated comments, targeting just your own exposure appearance, as it might give you more harm than profit. A thought provoking bloggers reaction or at least a meaningful quality comment only will get you good traffic. However, your controversial post should be justified and expressed politely, like in every intelligent interpersonal communication.
  2. Leaving comments on the blogs with content that is related to your own blog topic of discussion. It is recommended to invest your time in the blog that are related to your own blogs in terms of the placement niche, topics of discussion, or somehow logically connected to your own posts. The reader, impressed be your post in the politics, might want to check your blog for more information about your views and bout yourselves as a person. He follows your link and gets to the blog, related to football. If the visitor is not a football fan, he will leave immediately, and will not be able to enjoy your thoughtful posts, just because he is not interested in football.
  3. Your brand name and popularity. The blogging world is big, but there are popular blogs, popular names, you meet again and again in the blogosphere. Active participation brings your name higher on the reader’s perception lists, definitely, if you post quality, informative, and interesting comments. You get more popularity and your blogs get it too. Eventually, you build the constantly increasing group of followers that are waiting for your posts and when seeing your comment on their own or other blogs, they are drawing to read them just because they see your signature. Popularity does not come overnight, it is result of long, time-consuming, brand marketing strategy, so do not expect immediate returns, applying it.
  4. Direct traffic to your blog. Blogging experts found a direct relationship between amounts of the valuable posts you make on other blogs with numbers of the received comments on your own blogs. So, the simple recommendation is - do invest your time in the commenting marketing technique and you will see immediate return on investment (ROI) through increased traffic you get.
  5. Backlinks. Following straightforward backlinks targeting approach might be considered as artificial by some experts. But, it is fully legitimate and, as you following the appropriate, quality content submission guidelines, it will give you the guarantied automatic traffic. Look through the database of the blogs having the “no follow” link disabled from the comments, which means that if you comment on these sites, you will get an actual link. Excellent D-list with more than 200 applicable blogs can be found through the link: http://courtneytuttle.com/blogs-that-follow/. If you prefer posting your comments strictly on high page rank pages from these blogs, go in Google and type there: site:URL of blog from the list and choose high page rank pages on which you can leave comments.
  6. Virtual personal relationship. By commenting on the blogs, you can create informal virtual personal relationship with the author of the blog. Leaving your comments regularly in famous blogs, you can even form good relationship with the top bloggers. It is not easy to get accepted to the top bloggers circle, but who said that your posts are not worth to be on the top?

BlogSpreading: Spread a word about your Blog

Adding links to your Blog in your email signature is a well-known and well-accepted promotion technique. A small free utility helps to enhance this advertising channel. Blogspreading will automatically append a link to the latest post in your blog to your e-mail signature instead of referring to the standard Blog link, not driving much attention of your message recipients. A good title of your latest post will surely evoke more interest than a blind URL.

This might encourage your friends and colleagues to actually access your Blog through a Hyperlink and eventually become devoted readers and supporters of your Blog. All e-mail clients allow automatic adding of a signature to outgoing message. The signature is stored in an external text file. Blogspreading processes this file in such a way that it always contains link to the latest post. You signature automatically changes after each new post added to your blog: if the recipient didn’t like yesterday’s title, maybe he will be interested in the new one?

Establishing personal branding and marketing through BLOGHOLOGY

What is Bloghology?
We can define an anthology asa collection of poems, stories, songs, articles, or other literary passages chosen by a compiler. Similar to an anthology, a new bloghology project is covering bloggers profiles, photos, and links to their best posts. It is a PDF e-book which can be easily circulated throughout the blogosphere for personal branding and marketing of selected good quality bloggers.

What is the logic behind Bloghology?
Not all bloggers are good at personal branding and marketing. Especially the small bloggers are subject of a lot of challenges at the first stages of their blogs operation. Many of them stop blogging, because it seems to them at the time almost impossible to overcome the multiple obstacleson the road to success.

Bloghology is a joint campaign by two well-known sites: Peopleized.com and Search For Bloggingand will help bloggers on marketing and personal branding completely for free.

More information about the project you can get from the featured article:

How to increase blog traffic (Closing Post)

How to increase blog traffic without financial investments
Article 11

After extended exploration of the topic for 10 publications, I decided to close it. For me, if I feel tired from the task, I was enjoying before, it is time to make a short break. That is why; please accept this post as unofficial closing for the series of articles on the topic “How to increase blog traffic without financial investments”. It does not mean that I am going to get away from the topic for long, as it has the priority importance in the Blogging monetizing business. I have several ideas to implement soon enhancing the topic review.

Other Promotion Techniques – Brief Overview
I will just list several items that were not reviewed in the series for different reasons. But, since other authors mention them in their reviews, I might just overlook their marketing potential. Among them:
Posting on UseNet. Usenet is one of the oldest computer network communications systems still in widespread use. Dropping the seeds of the announcement for your Blog might give a boost to the site exposure.

Applying for Web Site Awards. Getting Best Blog Award in the featured category is a good way to show on the site, how good your Blog is, and also expose your site in the new niche. There are multiple online sites giving away the awards, you can easily find them through the search. I will mention just three of the top related sites:
Bloggers Choice Awards: http://www.bloggerschoiceawards.com/
The Weblog Awards: http://weblogawards.org/
Webbie Awards: http://www.webbyawards.com/

Submitting Blog to Design Galleries. The biggest list of the Design Galleries I could find online has been offered by Web Design Blog (99 sites in the body of the post, and more in the comments).
Link: http://webdesigngalleries.wordpress.com/2007/05/05/a-complete-list-of-web-design-galleries/

Interview Well-known Person. Arrange interview with someone well known in your industry, your marketing niche, or your local community. This interview will bring acknowledgement of your abilities to bring the newsworthy original material and will generate additional traffic to your Blog through the link from the interviewed person Blogs or Websites, since people tend to link back to their interviews.

Offer Contests. Organized contests will improve your reputation in the Bloggers community and will enhance your readers’ participation in your Blog activities. As you do that, utilize its marketing potential in full. For example, interview the contest winners and nominees, get their testimonials for your site, post related Press Releases, etc.

Participate in Meme Games. A meme is an idea transferred from person to person, from Blog to Blog like a virus. How does meme work? One Blogger is proposing idea like "Hey, let's post three facts about yourself that nobody knows yet!" He is forwarding it to his fellows Bloggers, tabbing them, and the game start its online brief, but bright, life with many people involved in the chain, until it dies down by itself or replaced by the new memes.

Forums Participation

Article 9

Participation in Forums and Message boards is another marketing approach to increase exposure to your blog. Many message boards and forums have a separate section of the discussion, collecting topics related to the blogs and blogging. But, even participation in non-related discussions on forums and message boards with leaving your blog link as your signature might bring you new customers. If I see a post on the message board, that is catching my attention by an interesting approach, I might want to learn more about the author and his virtual space. If the topic of the conversation is related to the blog theme, it is even better. User can discuss it, referring to his blog in a natural way as a source of additional information. People do not feel this conversation to be a part of the self-promotion campaign.

Also, it was noticed that the Search Engine are quite favorable to the forums content, so you might see the quality content, you posted on the forum discussion, at one of the first pages of the related keyword searches at the major Search Engines. Definitely, your blog address reference has a chance to catch public attention and increase your page ranking.

There are few good Forums, dedicated to blogging. If you are not only looking to promote your blog, but are also open for any new ideas and interactive communication with other fellows bloggers, the Blogging Forums will give you valuable assistance. It is useful for the Bloggers of all proficiency levels, but it is especially rewarding for newbies, as there they can find assistance with blog design, set-up and promotion. Based on the area of particular interests, user might focus on a certain area of the blogging forums, for example: blog promotion tips, template related issues, how to earn money from blog, Review my blog, RSS related, link exchange, Blog Add-Ons etc.

As usual, I am using RateItAll to prepare the Web List of the best online Forums, that are specializing on the Blog and Blogging related topics:

Writing and Submitting Articles

How to increase blog traffic without financial investments
Article 8

You blog promotion through your articles published at other blog sites or article directories is a great way to develop exposure to new readers. It allows you to express yourself on unusual for you promotion channels and to bring in new readers who would not have come to your official blog otherwise.

For the starter, you can base your article on your own blog posts, tweak them a little bit, add eye-catching caption and graphics, and you have your article ready. Or you can write the first article about your blog, its purpose, its milestones, and about yourself as a blog creator. When article is ready, it could be submitted to the bloggers’ communities, article directories, direct publishers, and other blogs. Each of these opportunities can present each own benefits and should be closely evaluated while designing the marketing strategy for your blog promotion.

We will highlight the articles submission to the free articles directories, representing the most popular source for the hosting of article publication. They offer multiple benefits by spreading a word about you and your points, and gaining back links to your blog from outside location. Also, if your article is of high quality, other webmasters might pick it up and run on their sites. As all article directories site require the publishers to retain the original links, planted inside the article, this can create the back links to your blog multiplication from each posted article.
Rated list of the top 40 free Articles Directories is posted on RateItAll. Feel free to raise your voice, rating the listed items and adding new:

http://www.rateitall.com/t-24434-free-articles-directories.aspx

For those, who prefer the automatic way for articles submission, there are multiple free software titles that can do that with minimum user assistance. As in all cases of the automatic submission, the effectiveness of the process is quite questionable. I personally did not test any of these programs, so I will just give you couple of links for software downloads on your own. Please, drop some comments on your impression from the automatic software performance.
